So pirating the Creative Suite doesn't hurt Adobe, but imagine if piracy didn't exist. This works for Adobe because they profit off of businesses, and each person who pirates it makes a business more likely to adopt it. I could never afford the Production Premium for myself, but I could pirate it and have the best software of that genre (arguably). What people don't realize about piracy, especially in areas where it makes price irrelevant and there are tiers (Movie Maker < Pinnacle Studio < Sony Vegas < Adobe Production Premium), is that it does hurt someone, just not who you think. They recognized that piracy was an insanely useful marketing vehicle. I remember an old Adobe employee talking about that, explaining how lax they were with cracks up until cs6.
